Mission Statement

Matthew 25 is a ministry of First United Methodist Church based on Matthew 25:35-40.   The mission is to improve the quality of life for “the least of these” by offering free fellowship meals, essential supplies, and by sharing the unconditional love of Jesus Christ.

History

The Matthew 25 ministry is an active mission of First United Methodist Church, Washington NC, serving those in need in our community. The ministry served the first meal on July 12, 2014, feeding approximately 35 people. Over 600 meals were served the first year.   As the ministry has grown, other services have been included as the needs were identified.   On one Saturday each month since July, 2014, volunteers have welcomed guests to share a meal and enjoy a time of fellowship.
